I went to deviant art website and spotted her photographs and find it quite nice. I like the way how her subjects are all in focus and have no distracting elements like how my photos would have:( I think i have to take more photos and hence, i would know when to capture the right moment and focus on the subject and beware of the surroundings the subject is placed in so as to make sure there are no distracting elements. I realized she edited quite a lot of her photographs also (like changing the hue and saturation of the photo) which i think adds in to the atmosphere presented on her photo. For example, for the fourth photo, she focused on the red shoes and changes the hue and saturation of her photo to give the photo a surreal atmosphere and hence, i find the photo quite interesting. In addition, she also added the polaroid frame to the photo(like what i did for my coursework photos). Therefore, this adds in to the artistic value of the photo:)

For the third photo, she highlights the subject’s (her i think) clothing in pink against a plain black background and hence, makes the subject stands out more. She also fades off the edges of the photograph so as to make the photo look more holga-ish. Hence, i think she has a good use of editing skills. I think i should adopt the use of photoshop since most of my photos have bad lighting and hence, i should make full use of photoshop to edit the photo’s hue and saturation as well as, maybe the exposure(curves) and improve on the photo’s lighting.

I also like how she makes use of the subjects’ expression and focus on their expression to bring out the emotions they have in the painting. For example, she focuses on the sad looks on the children faces in the first photo and the body language of the childrens (grabbing the bars) and edit the colour of the photo(grayscale) to bring out the feelings of the children to the audience, evoking pity from the audience as well.

I also like the composition of her photos where she usually places her subject at the side of the photos. and in some photos, there are also use of strong horizontal and vertical line to bring the viewer’s view to the subject.
